LESSON PLAN
- Time and its organization: day-night, seasons, cycles, calendar.
- Temporal location of daily life activities.
- Qualities or attitudes of objects and materials.
- Color, shape (flat figures and geometric bodies), size, texture, smell, thickness, temperature... and their physical behavior (falling, rolling, sliding, bouncing, etc.)
- Relationships of order, seriation, correspondence, classification and comparison through manipulation, observation, and experimentation.
Assessment
My assessment criteria which that I am going to use is the following.According to the aim of the content the assessment is going to be formative, because I will be doing in a continuous way writing every single aspect. So the children will be improving the aspect that for them in a individual way is more hard for them, because every one of them have different cognitive capacities and ways to learn. In addition the evaluation will be a criteria assessment due to the fact that I will assess every child respect their own capacities and not comparing them with the other student.
Sequence of activities
The class in which we find ourselves, the children
range are from four to five years old. Specific they are on the last year on the infant
education and the next year they will be at their first year of primary school.
One day, one child for his birthday gave him a
book about balloons, he brounght it at class, because he liked it. We were reading the
book in class but in English. So the exchange language teacher translates the
book whose was in Spanish to English. Before they read the book between them, the teacher will teaching the new words in a funny way, because the vocabulary might be
complex for the tehm, thanks to this, they won’t be as lost as they would to if they didn’t do this learning before to read.
Meanwhile the children were reading the book
along the teacher, the teacher was emphasizing the phoneme of the words, to
make the acquisition the word with the sound. Because the children are Spanish speakers, so they don’t know how to pronounce the English words, so thanks to these the children will be able to make
this comprehensible input and to break their affective filter in their mind who is related
to their scare of the second language.
The child who brought the book wanted to decorate the class for his
birthday with balloons, so he brought a plenty balloons to the class. After he
brought the balloons, the teacher had seen that the children were so exciting
for the balloons, that they wanted to decorate or do something related to the balloons
on their birthday.
The teacher took advantage of that exciting moment,
to propose to the children to make their own specially balloons for their
birthdays. This balloon will be made it for their classmates, like a present
for him or her on their birthdays
After the day of the birthday of the child the
class we will be dedicate a whole six days to explore the environment of when,
how, and what characteristics we have of the month of what weather is it.
The six days we will be dedicated to one hour per
day of the week to an activity related to the birthday of the child. The
activities that they are going to do are the following ones:
First day: celebrate his birthday we will give him
his own balloon made it for their classmates and free play because it’s the birthday
of the child the whole hour.
Second day: The children will be decorating the
season and the month of the child’s corresponding the birthday day, they will decorate
taking into account what it represents the season and the month of
the birthday with the materials that I will give them.
Third day: At lunch time, before the break each children will
bring a food what represents the season
of the birthday in Spain and in other English countries.
Fourth day: The children will go into the orchard,
there they will be planting fruits in the orchard, whose represent the
season of the birthday and vegetables whose are not from Spain, especially from
The UK one of the fruits is Bergamota
Fifth day: Depending on the season, I will bring things whose represent each season and through the tact sense they will be guessing, what
is that thing considering that represent the correspondent season.
Sixth day: They will be playing a game whose
represent the season.
At the end they will be doing a contest of what they have learnt in groups of four people
